Lord of the Ribs gulps N20m

BasketMouth

The Lord of The Ribs show put together by loquacious comedian, Basketmouth set the young man back financially by more than N20million.
The money according to sources covered professional fees, flight tickets, local transport and accommodation for the foreign comedians that entertained at the event
The money also covered the N1million prize money and other prizes the Abia State born GLO ambassador dished out to the audience.
Lord of the ribs show is the first time any known Nigerian comedian would be entertaining alongside international tested acts.
And Basketmouth through this solo effort, may have paved way for a new course in the entertainment industry.
The show which held at the Expo centre of the Eko Hotel  Sunday was indeed an opener to the foreign exchange earning potentials of the comedy industry especially now that international dimension has been introduced.
From the moment Basketmouth stepped on stage to welcome the audience, it gave hints to the quality of what was to come that night.
Coming after the host, was Onyebuchi. Young though, he was able to hold his own against older and more experience performers. Bovi was there too and he thrilled the audience with jokes of his escapades as a married man.
Credits must go to local boys as they were not  intimidated by the presence of their international counterparts. In fact they held their own proudly. I go die, Okey Bakkassi, and  Ali Baba represented very well. .
First among the foreigners to rock the stage was South African born, Ndumiso and he did a great job making the crowd laugh. Kelvin J from UK who came on after him did not allow his white skin take the shine away from him. His rib cracking jokes about Nigeria only went to confirm the rising profile of the country, Nigeria.
Gina Yashere, the British born Nigerian comedian also had a thing or two to say about Nigeria as she reeled out of jokes Nigerians play on people abroad.
